National Trust for Historic Preservation

In 1999, the National Trust for Historic Preservation designated Preserve Rhode Island (PRI) as its Rhode Island "statewide partner".  The National Trust for Historic Preservation provides leadership, education, advocacy, and resources to save America's diverse historic places and revitalize our communities.  The National Trust for Historic Preservation has partnered with local and state preservation groups who agree to serve as network centers of preservation activities within their states.  Statewide preservation partners work with state historic preservation offices, assist local groups, intervene in preservation issues, advocate for preservation, oversee educational programs, issue publications, conduct real estate transactions, manage revolving fund programs and serve as preservation clearinghouses.

PRI works directly with the Northeast Office of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, located in Boston, Massachusetts, to preserve Rhode Island historic resources.  Our Preservation Field Services Program is a partnership between PRI and NTHP Northeast Office who provides specialized expertise, assistance and participation in preservation issue in Rhode Island.

The Preserve Rhode Island website was funded in part by the National Trust for Historic Preservation Antionette Downing Preservation Fund in 2007.
